With the official arrival of autumn — the first day of the season is September 23 — celebrations throughout the Philadelphia region take on a decidedly seasonal vibe with Oktoberfests, fall harvest fests and more filling the calendar.
On October 3 and 4, particularly, Philadelphia and the surrounding area will overflow with more than eight major fall festivals in a single weekend, including some of the biggest fests of the year — the Midtown Village Fall Festival and Bloktoberfest in Graduate Hospital.

• Revolutionary Germantown Festival
History goes on full display during the Revolutionary Germantown Festival, a day-long festival that celebrates the rich history of the historic neighborhood. • Opera on the Mall
This fall, Opera Philadelphia will once again host Opera on the Mall, a free HD broadcast of the opera La traviata on the iconic grounds of Independence Mall.
